Some pics
On August 27th We went to the Carp airshow. It was hot and I didn't have appropriate footwear but we had fun anyway.
Biplane taxiing
Biplane in air with crazy woman posing on top.
Bingley stretched out amongst my current projects. A painting and pastel in the back ground and knitting and books on the couch. The books are all on Eugene Delacroix, my oldest love though he was a rogue and likely a bastard.
Jean-Paul Kauffman in his book writes this about him: '...he is sometimes difficult to pin down. He[Delacroix] said, for example, that "What is fixed is instability"; he wanted to paint the flash of a sword." Delacroix is an electric genius: he draws lightning, he fires thunder... there is always a controlled impatience, the impression that the matter at hand becomes too weighty and never proceeds quickly enough. In the beginning he was considered a hothead whose brush was described as 'drunken broom.''
He was described by a contemporary admirer as 'a volcanic crater artistically concealed behind a bouquet of flowers.'
Front of the house with new door colours and fading coneflowers
This is of me finishing up the last detail for the night. It's blurry because it was dark and the night setting needs to be held still - and well it wasn't. Blame Grant.
Railings and the new cyprus and funky paint job on the old plastic chairs
A spot I'll miss if we move.
Another current project. Re-familiarizing myself with oil pastels. These are coneflowers in the front garden. It's not quite finished. Areas of the foreground and background still need a bit of work.
8pm 04.09.2005 - The first panels are up. We spent most of the deck work time today ripping the lumber to size and chopping to length and sanding. The main thing is the plan of attack has been formed and it should be easier tomorrow.
This is another shot.
