'Panoramas'

Some roughly stitched panoramas. These were just hand held shots so no real point in proper stitching. Next trip a proper mount and a tripod!

This is a view looking west from the apex of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. It includes a cat hair from Velvet. Guess I should really rescan that :) I'm not sure what I did to the last two shots probably changed my camera settings in the 'wow' of the moment. It was hard for a student of art history and a history buff to function in the mouth gaping awe of the place. The locals are so 'ho hum' but that is what I've found even in my little hometown which has it's under aperciated North American East Coast appeal so missed by it's own locals.   The landmarks in view are from left to right: the beginning of the Corridoio Vasariano; the Arno facade of the Uffizi; the Ponte alle Grazie; above that is the Porta San Niccolo; the flat area of the hill is the Piazzale Michelanglo where the next pano was taken; and very importantly at the far right is the Golden View restaurant that Chris and I liked so much that we went at least three times!

This ia a view of the city taken from the Piazzale Michelangelo. I was very greatful for the clouds despite the snowy rain they brought. So many of the days had hazy white skies.  The landmarks visiable are left to right: the Ponte Vecchio; the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio; the tower of the Bargello just in front of the Duomo; and Santa Croce.
