On November 16th we started a new phase in our lives, we brought home Velvet and Angel. Velvet was rescued with four kittens from a garage in Carleton Place by the Schryburt's for Friends of Abandoned pets. They were lovingly fostered and we were very taken with the mother and daughter. Angel was by then six months old.
Little Angel was very vocal and seemed to search the house, as soon as she was free, for her human Mom and the other cats. Velvet would only come as far as the door to see want was wrong at first. Later her curiosity got the better of her. Here are a few pictures from there first full day of adventures with us.
Kitties under the swing arm monitor. The is a vent under desk and a view. |
Velvet was a bit apprehensive at first about coming out of her room. |
Little Angel was much bolder and was adventurous as soon as she was allowed out of her secure room. |
They took to the kitty post quickly. And it has a good view of the chickadees going back and forth to the feeder. |
Velvet in silhouette. |
Angel sitting pretty on the desk. Learning to not walk on keyboards is a hard thing, but we've done it before. |
Look at the pretty patternation and colour. The two dark strips at her neck meet on her chest like a necklace. |
Velvet testing the couch in the sunroom. It seems to meet her approval, but she wouldn't commit to a nap. |
Here she's marking the Oxfords. I think the house still smells strongly of Mumbles and Usul even though it's been months. |
Velvet decides she's in need of a bit of salad. She starts with an aloe. |
Then moves onto a howarthia but it's stiff leather leaves aren't very appealing. |
She catches the ponytail plant out of the corner of her eye. It was Mumbsy's fave as well. I guess I'll have to go pot some grass for her and save my plants. |
Angel seems concerned with her mothers vegetarian habits. |
